Application Engineer Penang 12 Month Contract About the Company ZEISS is an internationally leading technology enterprise operating in the optical and optoelectronics industries. The ZEISS offices in Southeast Asia focus mainly on Medical Technology, Vision Care and Industrial Quality Research business segments in the region. About the Role Purpose of this position:
- Support pre-and-post sales applications for Industrial Quality Solution (IQS) business unit. The field of business focuses on Quality Assurance.
- Master the use of IQS products such as coordinate measuring machine (CMM), X-Ray / Computed Tomography systems, optical inspection systems, and related quality assurance software.
- Increase the utilization and revenue generation of Quality Excellence Center Malaysia.
- Application support during the IG (Information Gathering) process, collaborating with Sales team in customizing solutions to potential customers.
- Application support during the IS (Information Sharing) process, collaborating with Sales team in providing Demo, Presentations, and meetings to present our Solution.
- Develop skills & knowledge via ZEISS learning paths and skills matrix with assigned products and services.
- Execute solutions e.g.: measuring services, accessory solutions, programming services & consulting services to generate revenue.
- After sales product push for Software Maintenance Agreements (SMA), additional software options, software upgrades, and promoting the use of the ZEISS Portal e.g. online training.
- Provide training based on sales contracts as well as billable training to end customers on our devices, software, solutions, and fundamental preparatory courses e.g., AUKOM
- Know and understand all aspects of compliance, standard operating procedure (SOP), certifications accreditations as a Trainer.
- Manage different mode of training e.g.: Remote virtual setup, classroom setup, factory setup and webinar setup.
- Provide solutions on fixturing design, special tools, stylus, and project solutions. e.g., design a fixture for programming services.
- Adheres to process requirements, operation procedures, legal compliances, Brand compliance.
- Complete reports on time e.g., CRM Mobile X entries and sign off from customer on the last day of job.

- Able to interact in a professional manner with customers and co-workers.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Knowledge on CAD based software.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Presenting confidently and clearly to a medium to large audience.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel within the country /region as required.
