Job Title: Unit Manager Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position to be based at our Gqeberha Manufacturing site. The successful candidate will report to the Packaging Manager.

Key Performance Areas

  1. Achieve production requirements against targets.
  2. Adherence to Production plan.
  3. Adherence to MPS (Master Production Schedule).
  4. Adherence to Planned maintenance.
  5. Manage Liquor and Material variances during production.
  6. Ensure Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
  7. Compiling and adhering to Opex / Capex budgets.
  8. Achieve product quality.
  9. Ensure efficient Asset utilization.
  10. Drive revenue and cost reduction initiatives.
  11. Ensure adherence to Internal Control Checks (ICC).
  12. Managing projects and feasibility studies.
  13. Ensure competent and motivated personnel.
  14. Performance management of subordinates.
  15. Ensure adherence to Mini-business Operating System standards within Production department.

Required Experience/Skills

  1. Relevant B Degree / BSc Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Completion of a packaging traineeship or packaging diploma.
  3. Minimum of 5-8 years of production experience and knowledge within the supply chain packaging and bottling environment.
  4. Computer literacy in MS Office, specifically MS Excel on an intermediate level of competence.
  5. Ability to identify possible future problems out of current information.
  6. Can determine the relation between different problem situations / areas and able to find a comprehensive solution which will impact on a divisional / departmental level.
  7. Displays perseverance to achieve departmental / divisional objectives and outputs.
  8. Able to control the execution of all tasks and projects in division / department.
  9. The ability to express ideas spontaneously, logically, and convincingly, listen effectively and react sufficiently to the views of others.
  10. The ability to fully utilise appropriate styles and develop individual capabilities.
  11. The ability to apply the correct motivational techniques with different individuals.
  12. The ability to complement individual weaknesses in teams with individual strengths and to develop a high level of synergy amongst team members.
  13. The ability to be skilled in effective inducing change in the organisation, successfully overcoming the resistance to change.
