Job Responsibilities

  1. Plan, prepare and deliver purposeful and productive lessons to assigned classes according to the educational needs, abilities, and attainment potential of individual students.
  2. Mark and assess students' work and provide them with feedback on their performance in a timely manner.
  3. Maintain accurate and clear student records to document their development, progress, and attainment (i.e., attendance, grades, behavior records, portfolios, student files).
  4. Set clear and high expectations for students and build positive and respectful relationships.
  5. Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and on the school campus.
  6. Effectively implement the school academic curriculum and Al-Ru'ya Pastoral Program through the work undertaken in and out of class to best meet the needs of individual learners.
  7. Maintain classrooms as warm and inviting learning centers using appropriate displays and resources; store them appropriately, and ensure that they are kept in good condition.
  8. Collaborate, share, and plan effectively with colleagues in a respectful manner.
  9. Undertake supervisory duties and advisory programs as may be assigned by the principal.
  10. Provide support for other teachers in ways that are indicative of a team approach (i.e., covering classes, sharing supervision of students, interdisciplinary planning, and curriculum development).
  11. Communicate respectfully in a timely manner with parents regarding the performance and progress of their children in accordance with the approved format.
  12. Attend meetings and professional development sessions as called by administration.
  13. Continuously undertake personal professional development through reading and attendance at workshops and courses.
