Description: The Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate to work in the field of experimental geotechnical engineering. The successful candidate will be expected to perform advanced geotechnical testing. Required Qualifications: A successful applicant must have a PhD in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on experimental modeling of geotechnical/geomechanics problems. Applicants need to demonstrate previous experience in advanced geotechnical or geomechanical lab testing. Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in geotechnical centrifuge testing
• Bioremediation and geoenvironmental engineering
• Geohazards risk assessment and management via remote sensing
• Energy geotechnics
• Artificial intelligence applications in geotechnical engineering

Physical Requirements: Performing centrifuge experiments involves frequent standing, sitting, grasping, and fine hand manipulation with continual talking, hearing, and seeing. May be required to lift up to 10 kgs. Research Project: The successful applicant will lead a project aimed at enhancing geomechanical experimental modeling with the goal of designing more efficient and environment-friendly infrastructure and energy systems. The Post-Doctoral Associate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of research scientists, graduate students, and undergraduate students. The Post-Doctoral Associate is expected to document research progress in the form of scientific publications to be submitted to reputable journals.
