About the job: Cost AccountantMinimum requirements:ND Cost & Management Accounting / B Com Accounting / CIMA Strategic Level or Associate member3+ years of cost accounting/finance experience, or 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environmentSyspro ERP KnowledgeTranslution Scanning solution - knowledge + experience (Added advantage)ODBC QueriesAdvanced Excel skillsResponsibilities:Standard Cost UpdatingUpdating of Costing Models (Excel)Stock adjustmentCreation of new stock codesReconciliation of inventory accountProduct CostingMaintain the line items for direct materials, labour and overhead on the bill of material or recipe for each productPreparing standard cost budgets for manufacturingCalculate, analyze, account for, and report monthly cost variances for direct materials, direct labor, indirect labour, and manufacturing overheadAssist sales with product pricing using an already defined methodologyUpdating and uploading of Customer and supplier contract pricesCalculation of Product costingMonitoring of raw material pricesCreation, review and update of Bills of MaterialsCalculation of the landed cost (Shipment costing)Preparation of GP dashboard reportMonitoring GP for each productCompliance with LegislationExecute and maintain procedures accurately and consistently calculating production rates, downtime, and change-over times for department performance measuresDeveloping a standardized policy and procedure of the standard costing system, such as inventory management, cost allocation and new product development (NPD) calculationEnsuring that cost accounting transactions align with GAAP, company policy and IFRSReporting / AnalysisPurchase Price Variance AnalysisStock Revaluation AnalysisFacilitate stock counts and analyze variancesMonthly Stock Take & ReportingStock adjustments reportMaterial Usage VariancesAsset verification (Half year and year end)
