Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the installation of servers, firewalls, and other essential devices at customer locations, ensuring efficient and professional deployment.
- Manage the setup and configuration of hardware for optimal system performance and customer satisfaction.
- Supervise the cabling of servers, ensuring proper organization, tagging, and connectivity for seamless operations.
- Oversee the installation and configuration of operating systems and necessary software to align with customer needs.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive reports and documentation for all installations, configurations, and system setups.
- Establish processes for record-keeping to facilitate future reference and troubleshooting.
- Ensure timely visits to customer premises for installations, configurations, and troubleshooting.
- Provide strategic guidance and technical support to customers, addressing system performance issues and offering long-term solutions.
- Liaise with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to arrange remote support sessions and ensure quick resolution of escalated issues.
- Guide and assist in basic virtualization configurations and support.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of firewall setups, network configurations, and endpoint security solutions.
- Oversee the deployment and maintenance of endpoint security solutions to safeguard customer devices and networks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to ensure smooth project execution, timely delivery, and high-quality service.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for deployments and troubleshooting.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
- Proven experience in IT infrastructure management, including leadership in hardware installation and network configuration.
- In-depth understanding of virtualization technologies, firewalls, networking, and endpoint security.
- Proficiency in server operating system installation and configuration, with a focus on best practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for both hardware and software issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage projects, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or virtualization certifications (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Advanced knowledge of endpoint security tools and practices.
- Experience in managing relationships with OEMs for technical troubleshooting and support.
- Proven track record of delivering results in a managerial capacity.
