Professional | Full-Time | Supply Chain and Logistics Looking for an exciting opportunity in a growing sector to play a key role in the organization of the Planning department? Join the world leader in wind energy as Project Planner. This position is to be filled in Cape Town, Vestas office. Planning department is responsible for creating wind energy project execution schedules considering many external factors (customer requests, site conditions) but also internal ones (financial target, contractual terms, location of production of wind turbine parts, location of projects, KPIs). Actively participatory during the sales phase, it plays an equally important role during the construction phase to secure an execution according to the contractual schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and progress the overall resource loaded portfolio schedule into Primavera (internal planning software). Ensure that all schedules generated for a project are fully integrated and resource-loaded in order to ensure the accuracy of projected staffing requirements.
  • Assist in the development of project plans and schedules ranging from level one integrated project plans through to detailed level activities.
  • Obtain data on project progress, logic and manpower from Project Managers, contractors or other project/plant personnel. Review/validate expected milestone dates on new projects assisting in the setting of milestone targets as required.
  • Conduct schedule review meetings and assist in developing alternatives to accommodate changes to project plans.
  • Assist other planners at corporate level, the project managers, team members, and the Head of Construction on project scheduling issues as opportunities/risks arise.
  • Ensure that the Planning department supports the project team with claim management variation cases and assists the operational site management with short term planning tasks.

Qualifications

  • International experience; experience in global interaction with customers/partners/providers from multiple countries.
  • Advanced organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills in English. Other European languages will be beneficial.
  • Ability to deliver results in a complex work scenario.
  • Work efficiently in demanding situations, handle tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Capacity to prioritize multiple projects and adjust workload accordingly.
  • Problem solving and judgment capabilities.
  • Contract Management experience (supporting the Contract Manager on Variation Orders & claims).
