Description
A vacancy exists for a Night Manager, reporting to the Nursing Services Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting the needs of the internal and external customers through the execution of the Hospital’s business strategy and operational objectives in growth, quality & people by leading, managing and coordinating all hospital activities at night.Critical Outputs
Effective quality management- Communicating, supporting, coaching and monitoring of night staff in order to ensure a safe patient and staff environment.
- Identifying clinical competence and addressing the concern with the line manager.
- Participating and leading quality projects in order to support a culture of quality.
- Ensuring staff allocations are adequately assigned.
- Understanding stock management processes in order to achieve unit targets.
- Effectively managing unplanned events in order to ensure optimal utilization of resources.
- Providing direction and inspiring positive work behaviour in order to keep staff motivated and productive.
- Displaying visible leadership to night staff and management in order to ensure productive and motivated teamwork.
- Participating in meetings in order to ensure productive and meaningful relationships with external stakeholders.
Requirements
- One Year Post Basic Diploma in Nursing Administration.
- One year Post Basic Diploma in a Specialty: Critical Care, Trauma/Emergency, Midwifery or Theatre.
- Experience in a similar role.
- Registration with SANC - all stated qualifications.
- Computer literate in MS Office Competencies required.
