Parsons creates interconnected communities and world-class infrastructure. What You'll Be Doing
- The Materials Inspector under general supervision, performs difficult and sometimes complex inspection tasks.
- Inspects various facets of work on the construction site and performs continuous surveillance of assigned construction activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
- Documents nonconformance and may participate in determining appropriate resolution.
- Have full awareness of testing requirements.
- Check material submissions and properly process approvals.
- Visit factories to ensure proper manufacture and testing of materials produced.
- Ensure materials delivered are as approved and are properly stored.
- Assist in the development of testing procedures.
- Keep up-to-date with new appropriate materials.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering with minimum 12 years relevant experience in laboratory materials testing including field inspection of samples and materials. Familiarity with all asphalt concrete and soil materials used in highway and bridge construction.
- Must possess the ability to read working drawings and related specifications.
- Computer literacy and excellent communication skills are essential.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes related to area of assignment.
