The HR Generalist includes full-cycle recruiting, onboarding and offboarding employees, handling employee relations and conflict resolution, ensuring policy compliance, and managing HR administrative tasks.
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:
- Work with hiring managers and schedule pre-recruiting meetings to ensure all needs and wants are understood before searching.
- Source, contact, and research potential passive candidates that might meet the requirements.
- Schedule phone and in-person interviews, gather follow-up information from hiring managers for follow-up with candidates.
- Interview job applicants to obtain information on work history, training, education, or job skills.
- Place ads on various social media outlets, websites, etc.
- When necessary, arrange travel for candidates out of the area to interview or tour.
- Manage the student/co-op program for all areas, including attendance at job fairs and campus career days.
- Develop and implement recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs.
- Confirm accuracy and integrity of all data entered in HRIS and databases.
- Monitor HRIS system/dashboards to ensure job functions, job descriptions, and req IDs are completed.
- Follow up with managers on changes and missing information.
- Support all HRIS system needs.
- Manage the end-to-end onboarding process:
- Arrange drug and background checks and receive results.
- Update new hire PAF as new hires move through hiring criteria steps.
- Send communication email to new hires with onboarding agenda, dress code, parking information, and day 1 schedule.
- Perform new employee orientation.
- Generate official internal documents such as offer letters, employment contracts, and HR letters.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws, Industrial Relations Act, and compliance requirements.
- Respond to human resources-related inquiries.
- Assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions, including preparing warning letters.
- Conduct and analyze exit interviews and recommend corrective action if necessary.
- Monitor and ensure termination dashboard assures all steps are completed for compliance.
- Adhere to all Samtec Quality Principles and actions.
Required Experience:
- 3 years in a related/similar position.
- Must have great communication skills as this person will be interacting with all levels of the organization.
- Must have great organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously as priorities can change very quickly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes and not suffer from any sensory deprivation and/or paralysis of the limbs.
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or equivalent/related technical experience.
