Role: Backup and Recovery Administrator Location: Bangalore Experience Range: 4 to 8 years Job Description: 1. - Data protection and backup recovery solutions familiarity such as using virtual tape, disk to disk to tape, data replication 2. - Configuring, Maintaining Agent level, Agent less and Online Integration Backups 3. - Configuring, Maintaining and Troubleshooting Database Backups - Oracle, SQL, DB2, SAP, Exchange. 4. - Perform all chargeback estimation, provisioning, and documentation tasks in a timely manner. 5. - Produce regular reports for management, to assist in cost recovery, capacity planning and consolidation. 6. - Planning for Media rotation, Management and Offsite Movement Scheduling of New Backups/ Modifying existing Jobs 7. - Performing Restores Backup Monitoring and Reporting Tool Installation 8. - Scripting / Automation of Minor Backup Tasks and Troubleshooting Backup Failures 9. - Installation, Configuration and Administration of DPM (Microsoft)10. - Configuring Multiplexing, Multi-streaming and Disk Staging to optimize the Backup process. 11. - Administration and Optimization of VMware, Database Agents of Exchange, SQL Servers. 12. - SAN and NAS implementation of DPM (Microsoft Data Protection Manager) Administration and planning contribution to Disaster Recovery with Backup tool for Windows and UNIX platforms. 13. - Handle issues related to Catalog databases, Storage Units, Policies, De-Duplication, vStorage APIs, etc. 14. -- Thorough understanding of Tape drive backup/restore architecture and best practices. 15. - Well versed with configuring and maintaining Backup server, Media Agents and clients. 16. - Competent in configuring disaster recovery and fault tolerant features 17. - Competent in configuring Storage Policies and copies for de-duplicated disk and tape libraries. 18. - Competent in configuring Schedules and Schedule Policies for data management and administrative functions. 19. - Competent in installation and configuration of Non-de-duplicated and Deduplication Media Agents in Small to Extra Large environments 20. - Competent in installation and configuration of disk and tape libraries. 21. - Competent in installing, configuring and troubleshooting client backup/restore agents. 22. - Experienced in Windows and Unix/Linux server administration including routine patching in a Backup environment. 23. - Knowledgeable in TCP/IP and SAN technologies. 24. - Knowledgeable in Network firewall configuration and deployment issues related to Backup environment. 25. - Knowledgeable in data center operations including handling tape library configuration and day to day operations. 26. - - Experienced in Backup software/devices upgrades, Service Pack and Hotfix deployment. 27. - Experienced in managing the Capacity and licensing. 28. - Competent in resolving file and system level restore requests. 29. - Knowledgeable in backup auditing, command line operations, logging and reporting features.
