South African based Software Company, Headquarters based in Durbanville Western Cape, requires a Financial Accountant/Bookkeeper. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for gathering and monitoring company financial data, preparing accurate statements, forecasting costs and revenues, managing tax payments, and conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with accounting regulations and support our company’s financial decisions. Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing Tax Returns.
- Tax Advise Capital Gains.
- Managing Accounts Receivables and Payables.
- VAT Returns.
- Payroll administration essential to ensure that we meet all legal and regulatory requirements related to payroll accounting practices.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting and forecasting.
- Analyse financial performance and contribute to medium and long-term business planning and forecasts.
- Provide financial analysis and insight to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor and evaluate financial information systems and suggest improvements where needed.
- Preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Conduct variance analysis to compare actual results to budgeted figures.
- Complete month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Liaise with financial auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out.
- Control of Fixed Assets Register.
- Project Management: Compiling Service Level Agreements, price negotiations with sub-contractors.
- Drafting of Business lease and rental equipment finance.
- Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- Certifications: A CPA or other relevant certifications.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) preferred.
- Experience: At least 3–5 years of experience in financial accounting or a related field.
- Accounting knowledge: A strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Software skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems.
- Analytical skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Communication skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Time management: Time-management abilities.
