As a proudly independent, family-run business, our dedicated team of over 80 staff delivers innovative, reliable security products tailored for residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Our reputation is built on cutting-edge technology, creative problem-solving, and a steadfast focus on customer satisfaction. SMP is seeking a motivated Sales Representative to join our team in the Umlass Road area, near Pietermaritzburg. In this full-time role, you will contribute to the company’s growth by building relationships with clients, identifying new business opportunities, and driving sales. The successful candidate will be expected to travel by road to clients across KZN and further and may need to stay overnight in some cases.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to grow the customer base.
- Conducting sales presentations to showcase our products and services.
- Managing the sales process, including negotiating contracts and closing deals.
- Meeting and exceeding sales targets through proactive and strategic efforts.
- Collaborating with the sales team to deliver an excellent customer experience.
- Providing exceptional customer service and after-sales support.
Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate will have the following:- Strong skills in sales, negotiation, and relationship management.
- Experience in delivering effective sales presentations and securing deals.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of security fencing products or experience in the manufacturing industry is advantageous but not essential.
- A track record of achieving sales targets or the motivation to do so.
