About the Role: Our client that is a solution a provider of large-scale, energy-efficient technologies and solutions, focusing on sectors such as marine, power generation, and industrial applications is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll and HR Officer to join their dynamic HR team on a 6 MONTH CONTRACT BASIS . This role is critical in managing payroll functions, ensuring statutory compliance, and providing general HR support. The ideal candidate will have expertise in payroll administration, systems management, employee benefits, and HR policies. Key Responsibilities: Payroll Management:
- Oversee FULL payroll functions for approximately 300 employees.
- Process monthly payroll, ensure accurate tax calculations, and manage statutory payments (SARS, UIF, SDL).
- Perform bi-annual IRP5 reconciliations and ad-hoc reporting.
- Manage employee benefits (Medical Aid, Pension, Provident).
- Maintain payroll systems, process leave and ensure compliance with relevant tax and labor laws.
- Resolve payroll-related queries from management and employees.
- Ensure regular system upgrades and smooth integration with HR systems.
- Administer and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
- Ensure compliance with Employment Equity and BBBEE regulations.
- Facilitate employee inductions and exit processes.
- Assist with Learning and Development initiatives.
- Support HR-related projects and provide data for monthly reports.
- Facilitate wellness programs, employee engagement, and special HR projects.
- At least 5 years’ experience in payroll administration, preferably in a manufacturing/Engineering environment.
- Strong experience with payroll software (300 People & Softline VIP Premier).
- In-depth knowledge of relevant labor laws (Income Tax Act, BCEA, EE Act).
- Advanced Excel skills and strong reporting capabilities.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels within the organization.
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Matric (Grade 12) is essential.
- Relevant Payroll/HR qualification.
