We are seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst with 5+ years of experience to join our Financial Services/Investments clients' local security team, working in-office from Tokai (Cape Town South). They're seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Analyst to join their team and help protect the company's information systems and networks from cyber threats. In this role, you will play a critical part in monitoring security platforms, analysing security incidents, researching new threats, and implementing security measures to mitigate risks and improve the overall security posture. As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will also support the conduct of security assessments and audits and provide training to users to increase security awareness.
- Applicants should already reside in Cape Town and have the ability to travel to and from Tokai.
- Applicants should be willing to work in-office for a 5-day week. There is no hybrid or remote setup.
- Implementing security measures to prevent and mitigate cyber-attacks, such as firewalls, encryption, and access controls.
- Conducting regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and assess overall security posture.
- Keeping abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the field of cybersecurity.
- Monitoring and analyzing security systems to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conducting security investigations, responding to security incidents, and documenting findings.
- Communicating security risks and incidents to stakeholders and management.
- Staying current with security certifications and continuing education opportunities to maintain expertise in the field.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to information security.
- Work closely with the IT teams to enhance and ensure overall security posture.
- Evaluate existing security measures regularly to ensure their effectiveness.
- 5-7 years’ experience as a Cybersecurity Analyst, or a similar Cybersecurity related role.
- Higher Level Microsoft / Networking / Info Security qualification / accreditation.
- Knowledge of and experience gained in security principles and technologies, including firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection systems.
- Programming and scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell.
- Digital Cloud Certification in infrastructure and security.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and respond to security incidents.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and regulations, such as NIST and PCI DSS.
- Familiarity with operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, and macOS.
