Reporting to the AVP Finance & Accounting, Asia Pacific, the Associate Director, Finance’s role is one of a strategic business partner to key stakeholders in the organization by providing leadership, supervision and development opportunities to his/her team members. The focus is to lead a team in controllership function across the full spectrum of business lines, in particular, leading and managing the month-end close process, balance sheet management process, cash management, inter-company transactions, Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivables, payroll and projects under a strong internal control environment. Additionally, this role is responsible for managing all statutory/compliance reporting under his/her responsibility area. CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Finance and Accounting Manage the month-end close process and ensure balance sheet reconciliations are prepared timely and accurately. Manage and consolidate cash flow requirements for area of responsibility and coordinate funding requirements with Corporate Treasury and other Controllership teams. Ensure inter-company transactions are managed in line with business activities and appropriately supported by relevant inter-company agreements. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable. Ensure accounting transactions are within MVW’s internal controls and compliance framework. Effectively manage all internal audits, statutory audits, tax filings and other compliance matters for assigned entities. Ensure clear reconciliation and documentation between management accounts (US GAAP) and local statutory accounts. In conjunction with Corporate Treasury, drive the set-up of new bank accounts and facilitate the implementation of credit card solutions in the region. Key position in region to drive Treasury-related projects for the region e.g. zero-balance account, cash pooling, cash maximization, etc. Responsible for payroll function in the region including corporate and payroll tax queries and reporting. Responsible for W&B forecast/budget/LRP. Support AVP F&A in leading and driving any finance-related projects implementation in Asia Pacific region including working with external service providers through implementation. Constantly seek process improvements and drive through changes. Provide appropriate support and backup to other Controllership teams as the business requires. Additional Responsibilities Support Development and Architecture & Construction (A&C) teams for developmental projects, including ensuring timely settlement of progress billings and project payments. Support new product launch and accounting/tax set-up for AP New Product Forms. Understand and be proficient in new business structures (e.g. AP New Product Form, Thailand transactions, IAPs, etc.) necessary to carry out the team’s accountabilities effectively. Ensure accurate recording and tracking of project related costs and support business decisions through analysis of project costs and information. Business partnership with internal and external clients. It is foreseeable that this role could take on more duties as the company grows, in financial analysis or general accounting. Any other duties assigned from time to time. Associate Development and Performance Management Lead and develop a team of Finance and Payroll professionals, providing coaching and guidance to achieve business objectives. Clearly state expectations and provide necessary guidance and resources when assigning responsibilities. Work with associates to identify barriers to success and develop action plans to overcome them; introduce new ideas and concepts to associates to stimulate positive performance. Recognize and celebrate team successes. Maintain effective associate communication channels; adopt an open-door policy to acknowledge associate problems or concerns in a timely manner. Share knowledge, innovations and best practices with associates. CANDIDATE PROFILE Key experience, skills and attributes for this role: Degree in Accountancy, CPA preferred. Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience, preferably with 3 years’ audit experience in a Big 4. Minimum 5 years of experience in supervising and managing teams, including remote teams. Solid accounting background, including GL, AP and AR. Experience with balance sheet reconciliations. Technically strong accountant with good commercial acumen. Proficient in ERP systems and MS applications (Excel etc.). Experience with US MNC and US/Thailand GAAP preferred. Previous experience in regional role preferred. Experienced operating in a complex, fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment. Possess an agile and growth mindset. A team player with ability to collaborate with senior management, functional departments and external partners. Effective verbal and spoken communication in English (other language proficiency would be an advantage). #J-18808-Ljbffr
