Job Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the daily dispatch of vehicles or trains, ensuring efficient and timely routing.
  2. Schedule drivers and track operators, ensuring optimal coverage and minimal delays.
  3. Monitor real-time operations to adjust dispatch plans as needed based on traffic, delays, or emergencies.
  4. Serve as the main point of contact between dispatch operators, drivers, and other departments.
  5. Coordinate with maintenance, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure timely delivery of goods or services.
  6. Communicate with track operators or drivers regarding route changes, delays, or emergency instructions.
  7. Use tracking systems or GPS to monitor vehicle or train movement along the track.
  8. Ensure that all trips and routes are properly logged and tracked.
  9. Resolve any issues related to delays, route deviations, or accidents, and report incidents as needed.
  10. Create and manage schedules for drivers, track operators, and dispatch staff.
  11. Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate for unforeseen delays, staffing shortages, or changes in demand.
  12. Ensure shifts are covered, and overtime is minimized while maintaining operational efficiency.
  13. Ensure that all dispatch operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  14. Regularly train drivers and dispatch operators on safety procedures and best practices.
  15. Investigate any accidents or safety incidents, making recommendations for process improvements to avoid future issues.
  16. Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities, including schedules, routes, delays, and incidents.
  17. Prepare regular reports on dispatch performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  18. Ensure all compliance-related documentation, such as inspection reports and safety logs, are up-to-date and filed appropriately.
  19. Troubleshoot issues related to vehicle or train breakdowns, route blockages, or other operational challenges.
  20. Develop contingency plans to handle unexpected delays or emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to service.
  21. Coordinate with the maintenance team for timely repairs and servicing of vehicles or tracks.
