Job Description

MEP coordinator provides complete solution for MEP coordination including design engineering guidance and reviews of mechanical & electrical engineering works associated with Civil Projects.

Desired Candidate Profile

1. Prepare the procurement schedule, including submittals, approvals, and delivery for the MEP long-lead items, as per the drawings, specifications, and BOQ, in coordination with the Planning Engineer, and monitor them regularly.
2. Identify all MEP variations between the contract and IFC drawings, and submit these variations periodically in coordination with the MEP Quantity Surveyor.
3. Review all shop drawings from all disciplines before submission to the consultant/client for approval.
4. Review all RCP layouts, considering all MEP services using BIM models, and civil finishing items, and submit the layouts to the consultant/client to obtain approval.
5. Coordinate among discipline engineers to secure approval for all MEP shop drawings and Material Approval Certificates (MAC) in accordance with the baseline construction program.
6. Monitor the MAC and shop drawing trackers regularly, ensuring timely approval from the consultant/client.
7. Responsible for updating the main contractor on work allocation and execution on a daily basis, in coordination with site engineers, supervisors, and foremen.
8. Anticipate complications in all services and troubleshoot them during the construction phase.
9. Submit and follow up on Requests for Information (RFIs) and MACs for MEP works.
10. Maintain regular follow-ups to ensure compliance with quality and time parameters.
11. Coordinate inspections and approvals of MEP works.
12. Provide engineering inputs and support to the draughtsman in the preparation of as-built drawings.
13. Schedule and follow up on testing and commissioning activities as per the T&C plan.
14. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all MEP services and obtain the client’s acceptance of the work, including sign-off for the completed project.

BE Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar position, including at least 5 years in the GCC. Building Services design and experience of services full co-ordination. Commonly used concepts and design and engineering procedures. Autodesk Revit MEP with proven experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr
