Job Summary The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Safety team in implementing the departmental safety program; making inspections and conducting safety training; and performing related duties as required. The incumbent is also responsible for managing the operation of safety systems, ensuring that safety systems, procedures, and other guidelines are implemented, and standards fully comply with the requirements to ensure the safety of the entire Group's International assets, properties, and staff. Main Responsibilities
- Shareholder & Financial: Ensure that all QNB Group premises are safe. Implement KPIs and best practices for Safety. Promote cost consciousness and efficiency to minimize costs, avoid waste, and optimize benefits for the bank. Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent.
- Customer (Internal & External): Manage the provision of safety services to all QNB departments as required. Co-ordinate and manage the relationship with external safety companies. Assist customers with their queries on the Bank's products and seek solutions to their requests. Maintain activities in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal departments/units to achieve improvements in turnaround time. Build and maintain strong relationships with related departments/units to achieve the Group's objectives. Provide timely and accurate data to external/internal Auditors, Compliance, Financial Control, and Risk when required.
- Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory): Supervise routine, scheduled, and emergency safety of all equipment & electrical/mechanical systems necessary for efficient QNB operations. Prepare the safety program for each year for all electrical and mechanical equipment in all Group premises. Coordinate with the Purchasing Department and the Stores Unit for the purchase and requisition of safety equipment and guidelines flyers as required. Verify and ensure the record of all safety equipment delivered to Branches and monitor the maintenance cost accordingly. Conduct visits to bank premises to ensure compliance with all QNB security policies and procedures. Scrutinize all invoices for routine safety works and forward them to concerned parties. Ensure that all safety requirements are maintained. Conduct regular visits to QNB premises to verify QA Security checklist, Civil defense regulations, etc. Co-ordinate and monitor maintenance performed where external service providers are used. Ensure implementation and compliance of safety policies and procedures in all QNB Group (International premises). Review and provide guidance/assistance on safety systems and system maintenance contracts for International Branches & subsidiaries. Conduct initial investigations of offenses and report findings. Conduct safety checks to ensure safety equipment is functional (such as fire alarm & firefighting systems).
- Learning & Knowledge: Maintain a good understanding of maintaining various equipment. Develop good planning and coordination safety abilities. Ability to coordinate various complex projects at different locations simultaneously. Proactively identify areas for professional development of self and undertake development activities.
- Legal, Regulatory, and Risk Framework Responsibilities: Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements including, but not limited to, Group Compliance Policies and Procedures (AML & CTF, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection Policy, Fraud Control Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy, Conflict of Interest and Insider Dealing Policy). Understand and effectively perform your role under the Three Lines of Defence principle to identify, measure, monitor, manage and report risks. Ensure systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy. Support the framework of RCSA, KRI, Incident reporting and remediation, as appropriate, in accordance with the Operational Risk Management requirements. Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure full qualification to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training provided by the Bank, attain, and maintain the required levels of competence. Attend mandatory (internal and external) seminars as instructed by the Bank.
- Other: Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information. Ensure safety procedures are in line with the Group's Business Continuity Management and disaster recovery requirements. Maintain utmost confidentiality concerning customer and internal bank information obtained during the course of business and provide such information on a need-to-know basis only to Senior Management of QNB, Audit and Compliance functions, and relevant Regulators. Maintain high professional standards to uphold QNB's reputation and strengthen its market leadership position. Perform all other ad hoc duties/activities related to QNB that management might request from time to time.
- University graduate (Bachelors) with Safety/Security certifications.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably within a highly rated international bank.
