Job Description: We are seeking a qualified and experienced Environmental Specialist to join our team in Qatar. The ideal candidate should have significant experience in environmental management, with a proven track record working on projects for Ashghal (Qatar Public Works Authority) . In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring environmental compliance, conducting environmental impact assessments, and supporting sustainable practices across various projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure adherence to Ashghal environmental regulations and standards for projects.
- Conduct comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and provide recommendations for mitigating environmental risks.
- Monitor and report on environmental performance, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, codes, and project specifications.
- Support the development and implementation of Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and other environmental documentation.
- Assist in obtaining environmental permits, approvals, and licenses required for project activities.
- Ensure that sustainability practices are integrated into project planning and execution.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to assess environmental performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide technical advice and training to project teams on environmental best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory authorities to address environmental concerns.
- Prepare and maintain environmental records, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience as an Environmental Specialist, with hands-on experience in Ashghal projects .
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering , Environmental Science , or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Ashghal’s environmental guidelines , local environmental laws, and regulations in Qatar.
- Proven experience in conducting Environmental Impact Assessments and environmental audits.
- Ability to develop and implement environmental management plans and ensure compliance on large infrastructure projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in environmental management software and tools.
