About the Role Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Senior Finance Manager is a pivotal role that combines strategic leadership with hands-on financial management. You’ll oversee the accounts payable, payroll, and financial accounting teams, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, compliance, and treasury management. As a 2IC to the Group Financial Controller, you’ll play a crucial role in the annual audits, management reporting, and driving financial strategy while fostering a high-performing team culture. Key Responsibilities:

  • People Management: Lead and motivate the accounts payable, financial accounting, and payroll teams. Manage workloads, set priorities, and ensure clear communication. Provide training and support to ensure continued staff development and performance.
  • Year-End Audit: Work with the Group Financial Controller and external advisors to manage the annual audit. Manage audit queries ensuring accuracy and timeliness to meet deadlines.
  • Financial Management and Reporting: Manage monthly management reporting and group consolidation. Ensure accuracy of the capex reporting, group balance sheet, and cash flow statement. Provide insights and analysis for month-end reporting packs.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing capex and depreciation budgets. Ensure accuracy of budgets and meeting deadlines.
  • Tax and Compliance: Oversee the preparation of indirect tax returns (GST, BAS, FBT) and ensure timely compliance across NZ, AU, Japan, UK, and China.
  • Treasury and Cash Flow Management: Support the wider team in implementing the treasury policy. Monitor cash flow and foreign currency derivatives, ensuring effective management of banking facilities and cash position. Ensure efficiency and accuracy of treasury management while always looking for ways to improve.
What We’re Looking For:
  • ACAANZ, ACCA, or CPA qualification with 10+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Expertise in financial reporting, IFRS, and indirect taxes.
  • Proficiency in treasury management, including FX management.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (Navision preferred).
  • Experience in an FMCG environment is highly desirable.
  • Proven leadership skills with a collaborative and innovative mindset.
