Job Description We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer with a strong background in network troubleshooting and infrastructure management. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches, along with an in-depth understanding of network protocols and tools. Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, including LAN, WAN, and MAN connectivity problems.
- Perform configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of Cisco routers and switches.
- Implement secure network infrastructure by hardening routers and switches.
- Configure and manage LAN technologies such as STP, RSTP, MSTP, VLANs, VTP, Trunks, EtherChannels, and high availability protocols (HSRP, VRRP, GLBP).
- Check logs and analyze router and switch data for diagnosing and troubleshooting network issues.
- Work with routing protocols, including static/default routing, RIP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Configure and troubleshoot load balancing, HSRP, and primary/secondary path setups.
- Implement and manage VPNs for remote users.
- Deploy new networks, including IP subnetting, IP packet flow, and DHCP configuration.
- Provide first-level network monitoring, fault finding, and fault escalation.
- Monitor connectivity, ticket queues, and resolve issues within defined SLAs.
- Proficient in configuring dynamic protocols like OSPF and BGP.
- Basic knowledge of firewalls and IP SLA.
- Understanding of TCP/UDP ports and network analysis tools like Wireshark.
- Knowledge of network monitoring/management tools and processes.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux OS static and IP routing configuration.
- Experience in network operations or support environments.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities for root cause analysis and resolution.
- Ability to document incidents with detailed cause, action, and resolution reports.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Good teamwork skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to analyze situations and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Bachelor’s degree in Technology ( B.Tech/BCA/BE ) or equivalent technical degree.
- Certification in Cisco CCNA or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Prior experience with network monitoring tools and technical documentation.
