Plant Manager required for a reputable automotive manufacturing company based in Pretoria. Requirements:

  1. Minimum Engineering or Manufacturing/Production related degree.
  2. Minimum 10 years' experience in automotive supply industry at Management level, compulsory.
  3. Minimum 5 years' experience as Plant Manager, compulsory.
  4. Proven experience in Leading People.
  5. Track record in continuous improvement.
  6. Problem solving skills.
  7. Ability to cope with stressful situations.
  8. Teamwork approach.
  9. Excellent Financial Management expertise and/or knowledge.
  10. Planning, organizing, controlling skills.
  11. Critical thinking and innovation.
  12. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  13. Decision making/problem solving skills.
  14. Conflict handling and dispute resolution skills.
Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the operations within the plant:
  2. Establish goals, objectives and guidelines covering all phases of plant operations and staff activities to maintain an efficient, functional, operational and profitable plant.
  3. Direct, guide and motivate immediate subordinates in attainment of projected goals and objectives to increase operational efficiency.
  4. Establish and enforce procedures and controls within the plant to attain projected goals and objectives.
  5. Support and promote Company Philosophies and policies to establish support and organisation within the plant.
  6. Make all decisions and approvals to exercise control over vital elements of the plant organisation and formulate such decisions based upon Company policy and other pertinent data.
  7. Plan and forecast plant requirements with respect to equipment, manning, materials and facilities to establish budgets for labour and materials.
  8. Initiate and implement new methods and procedures in areas such as scrap control, manufacturing techniques and workforce utilization.
  9. Participate heavily in customer relations to promote a sound relationship and to act as liaison between them and the plant.
  10. Recommend acquisition of capital equipment to update present equipment and increase plant efficiency.
  11. Review the job performance of each subordinate for employee training and development per Company policy.
