A Switzerland-based nonprofit company is seeking a dynamic Financial Accountant to form part of their remote Cape Town team. The company revolutionises global philanthropy with a platform that streamlines international giving and fundraising. As a Financial Accountant , you’ll ensure accurate reporting through meticulous transaction tracking, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis. Your advanced Excel skills and deep understanding of accounting workflows drive seamless operations, supporting audits and dynamic team needs with efficiency and precision. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clear and comprehensive understanding of transactional movements to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Utilize advanced Excel functions to enhance data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting efficiency.
- Possess a deep understanding of accounting workflows to ensure seamless handling of financial processes.
- Accurately match and reconcile balance sheet accounts while promptly addressing any discrepancies.
- Investigate irregularities in financial data and proactively resolve any issues in a timely manner.
- Create detailed month-end files and perform comprehensive reconciliations, including recording accruals and prepayments.
- Record depreciation and amortization to ensure accurate valuations in financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial audit files and effectively manage related queries.
- Compile and submit schedules required for operational and regulatory audits.
- Prepare thorough analyses of monthly actuals versus budgeted figures to identify variances and trends.
- Adapt to dynamic responsibilities by taking on additional ad hoc duties as needed to support the team and ensure smooth operations.
- Qualified Professional Accountant (SA) or AGA (SA)
- 0 - 2 years of Post Article Experience
- Strong analytical thinking to solve complex problems and drive data-informed decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, delivering clear and effective messages across all levels, both within the organisation and externally.
- R30 0000 - R40 000 CTC / month
- Able to work from wherever you feel comfortable and productive
- 12 days additional leave a year to spend with a charity of your choice
