Well-established manufacturing company is looking to employ a Factory Manager at their plant near Piet Retief in Mpumalanga. You will be responsible for efficient production (Production Manager) and plant maintenance (Factory Engineer). For the position you would be required to have:

  1. Sc/B. Eng/B. Tech/Nat Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  2. Business management/administration tertiary qualification preferred
  3. Heavy industry experience such as sugar or paper mill advantageous
  4. Minimum of 8 years’ experience in an industrial process plant, knowledge of boiler operations
  5. Minimum of 8 years' experience leading a management team, safety and quality systems
  6. Stable employment track record
Responsibilities would include:
  1. Planning, organizing, formulating, directing and controlling production operations
  2. Manage factory budgets, fixed and variable costs, capex, maintenance and abnormal maintenance
  3. Review overall factory performance, and implement and maintain operational strategies
  4. Ensure that maintenance is efficiently carried out and new projects are undertaken for uninterrupted, safe and optimal production
  5. Ensure the optimal application of all company and Human Resources policies and procedures
  6. Ensure effective performance of subordinates and teams
  7. Ensure that production and safety standards are in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  8. Comply with the requirements of ISO and Quality management Systems
