Business Analyst

About the job Business Analyst Key purpose: As a Business Analyst, you'll be responsible for creating business requirements and translating them into functional specifications. You will also collaborate with software developers on the creation of user stories and acceptance criteria. You should have an interest in technology as well as business analysis. Experience with IT Governance is preferred but not required. Duties and responsibilities:

1. Experience in defining and implementing project lifecycle management and governance strategy for software development.
2. Knowledge of software delivery life cycle, process improvement, and software delivery methodologies.
3. Basic understanding of key systems architecture and design such as planning, performance, production support, and related concepts.
4. Basic understanding of project management functions as a member of project management and execution teams.
5. Conducts business analysis activities (assessing and monitoring the overall state of a project) to determine and implement appropriate governance activities such as security, release management, configuration management, change management, incident management, and risk management.
6. Identifies and recommends ways to alleviate risks, delay budget overruns, and improve project execution.
7. Analyzes costs of alternate approaches, identifies incremental improvements, and identifies new concepts to apply in projects.
8. Provides the primary interface with operational functions of the organization that affect the project's business process improvement.

1. Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field required.
2. Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
3. Three years of experience as a business analyst, system administrator, database developer, network engineer, or similar role with the ability to work on both Windows and Linux systems preferred.
4. Experience with Oracle Database, SQL Server, and Microsoft Active Directory/Windows Active Directory preferred.
