Job Title: Financial Reporting Specialist

Responsible for accurate financial reporting on a monthly and annual basis for group companies. This includes compiling financial statements, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, preparation of tax and VAT returns, engaging with auditors and providing support during interim and final audits, analysis of financial information and assistance on various projects as directed.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for financial reporting including:

• Preparation and presentation of balance sheet reconciliations and other financial reconciliations for group companies.
• Preparation of deliverables required for the interim and annual internal and external audits.
• Submission and completion of annual financial statements & statutory returns to SARS for the group.
• Preparation and presentation of monthly balance sheet management pack to management.
• Preparing schedules and financial information analysis required.
• Preparation of annual financial statements for group companies.

General:

• Support and assistance with team projects and initiatives.
• Stock taking procedures when required.
• Participation in team events.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• Matric.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a similar position.
• Understanding of audit techniques.
• Ability to analyse and spot problems in working processes.
• Knowledge of banking platforms.
• Excel experience.
• Accounting software experience.
• Sound knowledge of Income Tax and VAT Act.
• Sound knowledge of IFRS and accounting reporting standards.
