Job Purpose

Maintain and apply a sustainable, effective management and planning system for the development and implementation of the plans, procedures, policies, instructions, activities, and programs related to the management of nature reserves in AlUla, Khaybar & Tayma in order to protect and sustain the concerned nature reserves and ensure a satisfying experience for the visitors.

Functional Responsibilities

  1. Review and provide the necessary recommendations for the developed vision, objectives, strategies, and action plans related to the nature reserves management operations and monitor their proper implementation.
  2. Monitor the development and implementation of the standards related to the nature reserves management activities and issues to achieve the set objectives.
  3. Oversee the development and implementation of the plans, procedures, operations, instructions, and activities to operate, protect, sustain, and conserve the natural resources and wildlife habitat in the concerned nature reserves.
  4. Ensure that all the care activities and recovery plans for the animals, wildlife, and natural resources are applied properly and according to their living conditions, in the concerned nature reserves in AlUla, Khaybar & Tayma.
  5. Monitor the facilitation and implementation of the projects, events, and programs that are applied in the concerned nature reserve site, as well as provide any necessary recommendations or improvement areas.
  6. Ensure the proper implementation of the required plans, procedures, and instructions for the re-population of flora and fauna resources in the concerned nature reserves in AlUla, Khaybar & Tayma.
  7. Monitor the preservation activities of the flora and fauna population habitat by preventing the risk of extinction of these resources and keeping threatened animals and plant populations protected and well-maintained.
  8. Maintain the proper development and implementation of the various events, adventures, activities, content materials, and programs that promote the nature visitor experiences towards their visits to the nature reserves in AlUla, Khaybar & Tayma.
  9. Ensure maintaining a high level of cleanliness, tidiness, organization, and arrangements in the concerned nature reserves’ events, projects, and activities in AlUla, Khaybar & Tayma.
  10. Maintain a high level of the visitors’ satisfaction regarding the provided services and programs in the concerned nature reserves in AlUla, Khaybar & Tayma, as well as review the proposed recommendations for improvement.
  11. Monitor establishing and maintaining strong relationships with the concerned policy makers and national and international entities and stakeholders for an effective management of the nature reserves.
  12. Oversee the review and adoption of the suitable international leading best practices related to the management of the nature reserves and the related provided services in these reserves.
  13. Review the reports related to the development and implementation of the various procedures and activities related to the nature reserves management, as well as provide the required recommendations.
  14. Perform any other job-related duties as required by the direct manager.

Managerial Responsibilities

  1. Contribute to the sector’s short- and long-term strategy from the Department's perspective in line with RCU overall vision and mission.
  2. Develop the Department's strategy, objectives, KPIs annual operational plans and ensure plan execution is meeting the targets.
  3. Prepare and submit the Department's annual budget for approval taking all planned activities and necessary investments into consideration by monitoring the financial performance.
  4. Oversee the development, maintenance, implementation and adherence of the department policies and procedures as well as the overall performance of the department and ensure KPI’s are well developed, cascaded, communicated, and monitored.
  5. Ensure effective staffing, professional development, and deployment of staff of the sector in consultation with the Sector Executive.
  6. Direct the Department's connection to its customers, whether internal or external, to ensure customer needs are met effectively.
