  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' medical and surgical needs, ensuring accurate data collection to inform care plans.

  • Educate patients and their families about post-operative care, medication management, and lifestyle modifications to promote healing.
  • Perform wound care and dressing changes with a focus on infection prevention and promoting optimal recovery.
  • Utilize advanced monitoring equipment to track vital signs and detect early signs of complications, intervening as necessary.
  • Document all patient interactions and care provided in electronic health records, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in surgical procedures by preparing the surgical environment, instruments, and supplies, demonstrating excellent attention to detail.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education to stay current with best practices in medical-surgical nursing.
  • Manage patient flow and prioritize care in high-pressure situations, demonstrating strong organizational and time-management skills.
Desired Candidate Profile:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is highly preferred, with specific training in medical-surgical nursing.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical unit is essential for understanding the complexities of patient care.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure is required, with additional certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing (CMSRN) considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of clinical protocols and procedures related to post-operative care and recovery.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems, with demonstrated ability to document and retrieve patient information efficiently.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in a second language is a plus for communicating with diverse patient populations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure while maintaining a calm and compassionate demeanor.
  • Physical stamina to support long shifts, including the ability to lift and move patients safely and effectively.
  • A proactive approach to learning new techniques and adapting to evolving healthcare environments.
