PE Global is recruiting a Mechanical Technician for our industrial manufacturing client based in Peterborough. This role is an initial 12-month contract. The rate range for this role is £22.71 - £30.51 p/h. Overtime available at weekends. Responsibilities of the role:
- Responding to testbed and other facility breakdowns using fault finding to effectively conduct repairs using a variety of techniques.
- Cover the maintenance, repair and installation of new facility equipment.
- Follow documented standard work procedures/instructions, using various hand power tools and lifting equipment provided.
- Engaging with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team including peers, engineers, and external contractors.
- Run improvement and root cause investigation projects and present findings through technical presentations to the wider teams and management.
- Training and supporting apprentices and co-workers.
- Balancing workload and priorities in line with the business needs.
- Working to and modelling health and safety standards to keep individuals, team members and the public safe.
- Keep the work area clean, tidy, and safe in line with 5S.
- Candidates from a Electrical/Mechanical background, ideally experience with both.
- Served a full engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or Qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent and/or relevant job related experience.
- Ability to carry out proactive maintenance, suggesting serving and schedule improvements.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of maintenance processes and tools, machine shop operations, equipment and processes plus familiarity with materials and quality objectives.
- Ability to read and interpret, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and schematics. (doesn’t need to have all of them but competency in one or two of them is desired).
- Boiler Management
- 19th Electrical Edition Trained
- Fork lift truck trained.
