Job Title : Privacy Attorney (6-Month Contract) Location : Hybrid (London Paddington - On-site Tuesdays & Wednesdays, Remote Thursdays & Fridays) Duration : 6 months About the Role : We are seeking an experienced Privacy Attorney to join our team for an initial 6-month period. The successful candidate will work primarily with our legal department, as well as collaborating closely with other business functions. You will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with privacy laws and regulations, initially focusing on the EMEA region with potential expansion to other jurisdictions. Key Responsibilities :
- Advise and support legal teams in the review, drafting, and updating of privacy policies, notices, and related legal documents.
- Provide legal counsel on privacy-related matters, including data protection laws and regulations (primarily EMEA-focused).
- Work with cross-functional teams to assess privacy risks and ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws, including GDPR and other relevant regulations.
- Lead and support data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), maintaining records of processing activities and ensuring compliance documentation is up-to-date.
- Stay informed on evolving privacy regulations and provide guidance on potential impacts to business operations across the EMEA region.
- Support the business in managing privacy-related inquiries, such as data subject rights requests and breach reporting.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across various lines of business to ensure privacy best practices are integrated into day-to-day operations.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Privacy Attorney or in a legal role specializing in privacy law and data protection.
- In-depth knowledge of privacy regulations, particularly GDPR, and other relevant EMEA data protection laws.
- Proven experience in drafting and reviewing privacy policies, notices, and contracts.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively advise senior stakeholders and work collaboratively across teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, hybrid working environment.
- Strong understanding of legal frameworks governing privacy in the EMEA region.
