Sales/general manager

Hybrid General/Sales & Marketing Manager role in Bayswater VIC. Small wholesale distribution company in the video/broadcast industry. The successful applicant will be responsible for management of the Bayswater office, staff and the sales channel. Currently, there are 4 staff in the office + 2 external. The business operates a small warehouse and shipping department, plus a technical support and repairs section. Industry experience and product knowledge are a distinct advantage but not absolutely necessary. Management experience is a definite requirement. Skillset must include the ability to effectively manage a loyal, small, dedicated team and manage our network of resellers across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific. The applicant must have proven skills in running a high-volume, low-margin business whose profitability depends on efficient processes and attention to detail. The applicant will also be required to manage some marketing activities initiated by our suppliers, as well as managing regular marketing communications to our dealer channel. A key part of the role is developing relationships with both existing and new resellers, and our industry partners. Strategic planning for growth over the longer term will also be necessary.
