Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Project Manager will manage the EPC project life cycle from initiation, execution, control, commissioning, and close out. Create delivery excellence on assigned project, providing certainty and confidence to the client.
Maximize client service, quality, and financial responsibility, managing activities related to project scope, time, cost, cash flow, quality, communications, resources, and risk component.

Overall responsibilities:

Formulate the project team and participate in project kick-off meetings, understanding the scope of work, estimation basis, execution, and subcontracting strategy.
Coordinate with the client Project Manager and project management team, setting up the project information system and communications.

Day to day responsibilities:

Establish work procedures, sequences, and develop schedules, budgets, staffing requirements, vendor lists, and progress milestones in collaboration with the planning team.
Manage technical issues with the team and client, regularly reporting project progress to senior management and/or the client.
Manage a project team to ensure project safety, scope, schedule, and budgets are being tracked and implemented.
Establish project procedures and lead the production of the project execution plan including the scope of work, deliverables list, master schedule, budget, org charts, and risk register.
Facilitate the setup of information management systems/applications as applicable to various life phases of projects and manage the information management project team.
Review and analyze cost and cost control progress, financial and other site-generated data to evaluate job status and progress.
P & L responsibility with associated commercial and financial accountability including revenue delivery, margin and overhead management, budget and forecast determination and attainment, risk and opportunity reviews, cost controls, accounts payable/billing, and cash collection.
Negotiate changes to project scope or specifications with the client, following Change Management processes to identify and approve modifications to scope, cost, schedule, and quality.
Responsible for delivery of agreed schedule and financial performance, proactively intervening to avoid slippage.
Ensure competence of project team members to carry out assigned work and ensure they are competent to carry out assigned duties.
Lead ongoing focus on risk identification and mitigation during project execution.
Responsible for project HSSE leadership, ensuring a program of initiatives and auditing schedule are established, and that HSSE and quality management issues are proactively addressed.
Interact with the client to proactively resolve issues and obtain final client approvals at project completion.
Maintain a continuing business relationship with all clients as part of ongoing business development efforts.

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Instrumentation, or Mechanical) with a minimum of 15 years in the Oil & Gas industry. Familiarity with Engineering, Procurement, and Contracting aspects in both onshore and offshore business.

Additional Information

Experience Requirements:

15 years or more experience in the UAE or Middle East.
Minimum of 3 years as Project Manager on medium to large scale projects in a similar business or industry.
HSE leadership compliance and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Skills & Professional Requirements:

Proven project management experience with a good understanding of business issues.
Good level of experience in the related field, industry, and locations of the work in the UAE.
Experience as a Project Manager on electrical projects.
Preferred experience working on brownfield projects.
Brownfield experience in the replacement of switchgears in the oil and gas industry.
Knowledge of commercial and contract conditions applicable to the procurement of various types of goods and services.
Good knowledge and experience in project monitoring and forecasting.
Ability to manage change control processes on projects with subcontractors and interfaces (if any).
In-depth knowledge of all types of project information (deliverables) and its uses and capable of managing the information management project team.
Good knowledge of all handover and close-out activities required for clients and suppliers.
Understanding of cash flow management as well as projection/forecast of cost at completion.
