Key Tasks/Areas of Responsibility
- Deal Origination & Research:
- Conduct detailed research on industries, sectors, and companies as directed by senior management.
- Support the initiation of deal flow for the Company’s various investment vehicles and core activities.
- Compile pre-screening, screening, and preliminary financial analysis on prospects for presentation to senior management.
- Valuation:
- Conduct detailed valuation work on companies as directed by Managing Directors, delegating to other team members as appropriate.
- Tasks will include detailed financial modelling, discounted cash flow analysis, enterprise valuation, and comparable analysis.
- Conduct detailed return analysis on investment opportunities for utilisation by the Company’s senior management in the investment decision-making process.
- Due Diligence:
- Participate in deal teams when conducting due diligence on specific opportunities.
- Interface and coordinate with sell-side brokers, advisers, and research analysts to ascertain facts about a particular opportunity as appropriate.
- Review legal agreements, bond documents, banking agreements, and securities documentation necessary for investment analysis.
- Compile investment documents including term sheets, financial models, detailed Due Diligence File Notes, and detailed investment memoranda.
- Investment Execution:
- Coordinate amongst external advisers (financial, legal, tax, commercial) and internal functional teams (investment, operations, marketing) to complete investments or capital solutions mandates.
- Post Investment Management:
- Coordinate ongoing analysis, monitoring, and reporting on existing and future investments, including review of management reports and information packs.
- Write and present structurally sound proposals and plans for the enhancement of ongoing investments, calling upon resources within the Company and its external network where appropriate.
- Business Development:
- Support and execute business development initiatives as directed by the Company’s senior management.
- Team/Office Management:
- Monitor and mentor interns.
- Other duties as directed.
- Experience required:
- At least 1 year of work experience at an investment bank, private equity fund, hedge fund, boutique corporate finance firm, or the corporate finance division of a recognised accounting firm.
- Educated to degree level.
- Industry qualifications an advantage, e.g., CFA.
- Experience working collaboratively and flexibly as part of a remote global team an advantage.
- Skills Required:
- Financial modelling.
- Investment analysis and presentation.
- Project management and organisation.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication.
- Experience with AI tools and techniques, such as machine learning, natural language processing, or data mining, is highly desirable.
- Base Salary: TBD based on market levels and commensurate with the experience of the successful candidate.
- Bonus: Discretionary and performance-based.
