We combine deep technical domain understanding with a broad view of organizational concerns including business acumen, security, compliance, and product delivery. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.ResponsibilitiesDesigns with PCI / regulatory requirements within their technology and product spaceDelivers architectures that balance risk, security and operational excellenceServes as a thought leader within their domain or productKeeps abreast of industry changes across their product family. Assesses relative merits of technology maturity against Discover's needsDemonstrates deep understanding of technical domain (e.g., computer, network cloud, API, frameworks, etc.)Creates big-picture design view of product portfolioGuides evaluation of current technology and leads evaluation of new technologies using existing standards and frameworksMinimum QualificationsAt a minimum, here's what we need from you:Bachelors - Computer Science or related8+ Years - Software Development, Software Engineering, Technical Architecture or relatedInternal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of proficient on the Dreyfus architecture scalePreferred QualificationsBonus Points If You Have:Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, and operational stability.Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to select or recommend the best solutions for the future state architectureStrong experience in cloud architecture, design, and cost optimization/blueprints.Experience working as a Cloud ArchitectKafka background (hosting/maintaining)Grasp of Non-Functional RequirementsSRE background is advantageous
