Job Title: Data Protection Officer

Location: Dubai, UAE

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Protection Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive data policy framework to ensure the protection and privacy of our organization's data. This role requires a deep understanding of data protection laws and regulations, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to ensure compliance and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a data policy framework that aligns with legal requirements and industry best practices.

Monitor and ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant legislation.

Conduct regular data protection audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks.

Provide guidance and training to employees on data protection policies and procedures.

Collaborate with IT, legal, and other departments to ensure data protection measures are integrated into all business processes.

Respond to data breaches and incidents, and coordinate with relevant authorities as necessary.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of data protection trends and developments and recommend improvements to the data policy framework.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in information security, Law, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Data Protection Officer or in a similar role.

In-depth knowledge of local & international data protection laws and regulations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Relevant certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or CIPT are a plus.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in developing and implementing data policy frameworks.

A minimum of 6 years' experience in a similar role with a proven ability to develop and execute relevant strategies.

Familiarity with data protection technologies and tools.

Strong project management skills.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
