You’ll work on board a range of ABF Cutters and other vessels conducting Engineering activities in the offshore maritime environment. Amongst other allowances, on successful completion of pre-deployment requirements, marine sea-going officers currently attract a commuted sea-going allowance (CMA) of 63% of base salary. Position Summary The Chief Engineer (CENG), deployed aboard a Cape Class vessel, is a key member of the on-board crew, overseeing the entire Marine engineering department on the vessel and responsible for the maintenance and operation of all engineering equipment on-board. In a ship emergency, the CENG will assume complete control of all internal ship engineering response actions. The CENG works closely with the Commanding Officer (CO) and will ensure that the physical aspects of the vessel are completely under control. Mandatory Qualifications - Must hold: Engineer Class 3 near Coastal Certificate of Competency as per Marine Order 505 plus 18 months Sea Service as DENG on a Cape Class or equivalent. Please note: we will require an AMSA approved letter of sea service or minimum sea service letter from the company on company letterhead with contact person. OR *An Engineer Watchkeeper with endorsement from AMSA to act as Chief Engineer. OR Engineer Class 2 Certificate of Competency (Marine Order 72 and STCW regulation III/1 and III/2).
