About the role It’s an exciting time here at Officeworks and within our Strategy team, and we are on the lookout for an up to 12-month parental leave contract to join our team. Perfect for someone with a consulting, strategy, or transformation background, this position offers the chance to think strategically, drive tangible outcomes, and build deep relationships with stakeholders at all levels. You’ll champion change and help guide the organization toward success. Our high-performing Strategy Team drives ambitious growth while embedding a strong productivity agenda. Partnering closely with executive leadership, we shape and communicate enterprise strategies, develop functional plans, and manage cross-functional programs to achieve our vision. Positioned at the heart of decision-making, we have a direct impact on the whole business, our customers, and our team members. The Strategy Manager will lead the development and execution of strategies to drive growth, profitability, productivity, and customer experience across Officeworks’. This agile role offers the opportunity to lead varied projects across different business functions and coach and mentor our Strategy Partners. This is a high-influence position where you will need to build a case for change and take stakeholders along the journey to achieve outcomes. As a Strategy Manager, you will: Conduct internal and external analysis to inform strategic thinking and formulation of recommendations Develop strategies and solutions to grow, enhance profitability, increase productivity and improve customer experience, consider the pros and cons, trade-offs, implications and risks of a variety of options to make informed decisions Create presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders and SMEs to identify, evaluate and execute strategic initiatives Develop business cases and conduct cost-benefit analysis to evaluate the impact of strategic initiatives Build strong relationships with Executive Leadership Team and senior leaders across the business Coach, mentor, supervise and provide professional development opportunities for Strategy Partners About you You are a structured, logical thinker who uses a data-led approach to identify opportunities and solve complex business problems. You have a bias for driving outcomes and are comfortable switching between blue-sky thinking and on-the-ground implementation. In addition, you will have: Tertiary qualified with 7+ years of relevant industry and/or management consulting experience, focusing on strategy development and delivery to achieve growth and profitability objectives. Proven experience developing and delivering strategies is necessary, experience in retail is preferred. You are commercially and financially astute and enjoy evaluating the trade-offs of key decisions to land on the most suitable option You are an exceptional communicator with the ability to tell compelling business stories and articulate complex narratives.
