Job Description: We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will have experience working as part of a dedicated consultancy team delivering successful cost management services on major global projects. There is significant opportunity for progression and rapid career development. You will need to demonstrate relevant and recent experience with appropriately sized projects as well as the ability to engage and communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors. The ideal candidate will have a technical and experience-based Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Management background, a solid understanding of CostX / CATO measurement experience and be able to communicate appropriately and effectively. MRICS achievement or aspiration is preferred but not essential for the right individual. The ideal candidate fits the below profile:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and detailed budgets for construction projects, ensuring all resources are accounted for.
  • Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, ensuring that spending aligns with the budget. Recommend corrective actions if necessary.
  • Assist in the selection of contractors and suppliers, ensuring procurement processes are in line with company policies.
  • Review and manage contracts, variations, and changes in scope. Ensure that all contractual obligations are met and assist in resolving disputes.
  • Identify potential risks related to cost and contract terms and provide strategies to mitigate them.
  • Prepare regular cost reports, valuations, and financial reports for stakeholders, ensuring transparency and clarity.
  • Conduct site visits to assess work progress, quality, and compliance with the project's cost expectations.
  • Work closely with the project team, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to ensure smooth execution of the project.
  • Identify opportunities for cost-saving without compromising quality or performance.
  • Prepare and settle the final accounts, ensuring all variations and claims are accurately reflected.
Essential Skills:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience (at least 3 years of relevant experience in similar projects) technical and experience-based Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Management background.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the MENA Region.
  • Proficiency in using cost estimation software, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and relevant project management tools.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, contracts and procurement methods.
  • Solid understanding of CostX / CATO measurement experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and collaborate effectively.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of the role.
  • Ability to identify issues, analyze situations, and come up with solutions.
