We’re looking for a passionate, results driven and motivated sales leader to join our team as our Business Manager – Woolworths NZ . Reporting to our Sales Director NZ, this full-time role is based at our Head Office in Ellerslie, Auckland and leads a team of two direct reports, Key Account Manager and VMI Buyer. You’ll be part of our Senior Management Group and a key contributor to the Sales Leadership Team, owning the development of strategic account plans for Woolworths NZ, Fresh Choice and Private Label, and executing plans to deliver growth, market share and profit objectives while developing strong and sustainable customer relationships. What you'll be responsible for:
  • Leading, engaging and developing a team of two direct reports
  • Developing strategic plans to achieve key business metrics, ensuring alignment between retailer strategy & account plan
  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Effectively planning and leading Joint Business Plans (JBP) with customers to deliver growth opportunities
  • Driving category review processes, ensuring shelf share and ranging objectives are achieved
  • Partnering with our local marketing and category teams to develop strong customer activation plans and then working closely with Cartology to bring these plans to life
  • Achieving distribution targets, alongside optimising pricing & promotional effectiveness
  • Providing effective tools and support for our Field Sales Team, enabling excellence in execution
What you'll bring to the role?
  • It’s likely you’ll be in a grocery Business Manager role currently, with solid experience in FMCG
  • Proven experience working with Woolworths NZ
  • Excellent communication and business partnering skills - you can effectively tailor your approach and love working with a range of people and teams
  • Strong negotiation and selling skills with proven track record of delivering results. You thrive on hitting the number!
  • Accountability – you own your decisions and can be counted on to do what you say you will
  • Impressive organisation and planning skills that allow you to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Excel skillset is a ‘must have’, and knowledge of Promax, BW & SAP would be great but not deal breakers!
  • Eye for detail and solid analytical skillset – you don’t miss a thing, leave no stone unturned and enjoy turning insights into actions
