Search Engine Optimization Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Senior SEO Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a Senior SEO Specialist, you will play a critical role in developing and executing our SEO strategy to increase visibility, drive traffic, and improve user engagement across our web platform. You’ll work closely with our content, product, and development teams to ensure SEO best practices are implemented and aligned with our goals. Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement effective SEO strategies for driving organic traffic to the College Mentor platform.
• Conduct thorough keyword research to identify high-value search terms for students and parents related to higher education, career guidance, and related topics.
• Optimize on-page SEO elements including titles, meta descriptions, headers, and images to ensure the site is fully optimized for search engines.
• Lead and manage off-page SEO efforts, including link-building campaigns, outreach, and maintaining strong relationships with industry influencers and educational blogs.
• Conduct technical SEO audits, and collaborate with developers to resolve issues related to site speed, mobile-friendliness, structured data, and site architecture.
• Implement and manage local SEO strategies to increase visibility in key geographic regions and cities.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on SEO performance using Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and third-party tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Moz etc.
• Stay up-to-date with SEO trends and algorithm changes and adjust strategies accordingly to ensure continued growth.
• Conduct competitor analysis and identify opportunities to outperform competitors in search rankings.
• Collaborate with content teams to ensure all content is SEO-optimized, user-friendly, and relevant to our audience.
• Provide ongoing guidance and training to junior SEO team members and help them grow their skills.

• 4+ years of experience in SEO, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role, preferably within the educational or online services sector.
• Strong expertise in on-page, off-page, and technical SEO best practices.
• Proven track record of driving organic traffic and improving search engine rankings.
• In-depth knowledge of SEO tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, and others.
• Familiarity with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and how they relate to SEO.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex SEO concepts to non- technical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of UX/UI principles and how they influence SEO and user engagement.
• Experience with local SEO tactics for education-related searches and geographic targeting.
• Ability to stay ahead of SEO trends and algorithm changes, and adapt strategies accordingly.
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred, but not required).

• Experience working within the education industry or with websites similar to the same.
• Experience with conversion rate optimization (CRO) and using SEO to support lead generation goals.
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) like Directus, and web analytics tools.
• Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS for implementing on-page optimizations directly.
