About Us: We are a growing and dynamic small/medium enterprise in the food manufacturing industry, committed to delivering high-quality products to our customers. As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient supply chain management of our raw materials and packaging. Job Overview: The Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement processes within the food manufacturing sector, ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of high-quality materials. You will collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and oversee the end-to-end procurement process for raw materials, ingredients, and packaging.
  2. Source suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure the best quality, prices, and delivery terms.
  3. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain.
  4. Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, working closely with the Quality Assurance team.
  5. Monitor market trends and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly to mitigate risks and capitalize on cost-saving opportunities.
  6. Track and report on procurement performance, including cost savings and supplier performance.
  7. Maintain accurate procurement records and oversee inventory management.
  8. Ensure procurement operations align with company sustainability and ethical sourcing practices.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  1. A degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a relevant field.
  2. Proven experience in a procurement role, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
  3. In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations (such as HACCP) and quality standards.
  4. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
  5. Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  7. Strong IT skills, including experience with procurement software and MS Office.

Desirable:

  1. Previous experience in a small/medium enterprise environment.
  2. Familiarity with sustainable and ethical sourcing practices within the food sector.
