Job details

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical & Instrument Technician to join our team. This role will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems throughout our facility. The technician will handle electrical repairs, perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and assist with system upgrades. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of electrical technology, instrumentation, PLCs, and industrial electronics. Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Repairs & Troubleshooting: Respond promptly to requests for electrical repairs and breakdowns, diagnosing and resolving electrical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • PLC Maintenance: Troubleshoot and repair programmable logic controllers (PLCs), ensuring they are functioning properly. Adjust settings and perform necessary repairs to optimize system performance.
  • System Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct tests and assessments on new systems and repairs, ensuring that all work meets quality and safety standards.
  • Installation & Assembly: Assemble and install electrical panels, wire harnesses, and other electrical equipment as needed for ongoing maintenance and new projects.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical systems, equipment, and instrumentation according to a regular schedule, ensuring the continued reliability of all systems.
  • System Expansion: Install new equipment and wiring to support facility growth and infrastructure needs.
  • Communication & Reporting: Clearly communicate estimated timelines for repairs and maintenance to stakeholders, minimizing downtime. Maintain accurate reports on repair activities, maintenance schedules, and system performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations and support system integration and upgrades.
Skills
  • Strong knowledge and experience in electrical systems, instrumentation, and PLC troubleshooting.
  • Expertise in control systems, automation engineering, and industrial electronics.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing, adjusting, and repairing electrical systems and PLCs.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to write reports for maintenance activities.
  • Solid understanding of safety protocols and regulations in an industrial environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
