Role Purpose The Design Director in The Line Design team will lead and manage the design of different assets related to The Line. The Director of Design will lead a design team with respective plans, schedules, and will organize and coordinate the design work executed on projects of all scales. This is a KSA NEOM client site-based role. Key accountabilities

  1. Responsible for design quality and vision.
  2. Accountable for Delivery of design through Plan of Works.
  3. Single point of contact for project Leadership.
  4. Escalation point for Design Consultants.
  5. Develop THE LINE architecture design and ensure implementation across the module.
  6. Responsible for delivering THE LINE Design Management mandate, including stakeholder engagement internally and externally.
  7. Manage architectural design consultants to deliver NEOM architectural content and context.
  8. Supervise the production of visualization, pre-concept, concept, developed and detailed design.
  9. Acts as Lead reviewer of qualitative architectural design review process.
  10. Management and oversight of Senior Architects, Architects, Designers within the department.
  11. Draft comprehensive architectural sets from concept until detailed design documents.
  12. Manage Design and Asset Brief compliance, completeness and accuracy.
  13. Lead, develop and review design asset briefs.
  14. Prepare SoW, specifications, reports and related data tables.
  15. Manage communication, coordination, and management of consultants, contractors, various NEOM departments/sectors.
Background, Skills & Qualifications Knowledge:
  1. Excellent conceptual and design skills, with emphasis on aesthetics.
  2. Fluent in writing and speaking English.
  3. Ability to negotiate and maintain cordial relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  4. Solid knowledge of products, materials, zoning/building codes and construction methods.
  5. A keen eye for attention to detail and accuracy.
  6. Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative.
  7. Understanding of financial and commercial management of projects.
  8. Full knowledge of international standards, policies, codes and procedures.
  9. Developed knowledge of Sustainable Design principles.
Skills:
  1. Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  2. Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
  3. Strong leadership skills.
  4. Outstanding presentation skills.
  5. Excellent ability in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Suite; Grasshopper and V-Ray is a plus.
Experience:
  1. 25 years of post-graduate outstanding architectural design and management experience.
  2. Proven related experience in an Architectural Practice.
  3. Experience working in signature architecture design studios.
  4. Design experience in various architectural types: residential, mixed use, commercial, public, healthcare, educational, etc.
  5. Experience in Middle East is appreciated.
Qualifications:
  1. B.Arch or B.Sc. in Architecture from a recognized university.
  2. Postgraduate in Architecture or Urban Design.
  3. International accreditation (RIBA, AIA, or equivalent).
