Job Description:

The appointed HSEQ Advisor will be responsible for providing a professional health and safety service to all levels of staff working within Apleona Ireland.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  1. Developing and administering procedures (including safety statement, risk assessments and safety related protocols, environmental aspects register, etc) to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislative requirements and corporate Environmental and Health & Safety policy.
  2. Assist in the maintenance and development of ISO45001, ISO14001 & ISO9001 as part of the Integrated Management system.
  3. Conducting and reviewing risk assessments and ensure measures to control risks are implemented and monitored both for Apleona Ireland activities and as part of EH&S client projects.
  4. Management and development of site Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan.
  5. Providing health and safety advice and support on site/client projects.
  6. Preparing health and safety documentation required for site projects (PSDP/PSCS duties).
  7. Ensuring contractor safety management arrangements are established and implemented.
  8. Maintaining close liaison with facilities, technical and administrative staff to ensure implementation of regulations pertaining to Health and Safety.
  9. Completion of DSE workstation assessments.
  10. Completion of manual handling training and manual handling risk assessments.
  11. Investigation and formal recording and reporting of accidents or incidents onsite or on client sites.

Qualifications and experience:

Essential Requirements:

  1. Formal qualification in health and safety.
  2. Proven ability to work on own initiative, with problem solving skills and be innovative.
  3. Membership of IOSH (or working towards) or equivalent.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft IT applications.
  5. Fluency in English.
  6. Full Clean Driving Licence.
  7. Access to own vehicle.

Ideal Requirements:

  1. Manual Handling Instructor and Assessor trained.
  2. Knowledge and experience of working within the facilities management sector.
  3. Knowledge of management systems i.e. ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO9001.
  4. Minimum 1 years’ experience within a similar role in customer service driven environment.
  5. DSE Assessor trained.
  6. Experience in auditing HSEQ management systems.
