Engineering Supervisor
Job details
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tribologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess an N6 or National Diploma in any Engineering discipline, combined with a Level 3 Machinery Lubrication Analyst certificate. The role focuses on the study and application of lubrication, wear, and friction reduction methods to optimize machinery performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Lubrication Management
Develop, implement, and monitor lubrication programs for industrial machinery.
Select and recommend appropriate lubricants based on operational conditions and performance requirements.
Oversee oil sampling, analysis, and reporting, ensuring timely corrective actions.
Condition Monitoring
Perform vibration analysis, thermography, and other predictive maintenance techniques.
Analyze oil and grease samples to assess equipment health and recommend maintenance.
Troubleshoot and resolve lubrication-related failures or anomalies.
Equipment Performance Optimization
Evaluate friction and wear in machine components and propose solutions to extend equipment life.
Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure effective lubrication practices.
Technical Reporting and Documentation
Maintain accurate records of lubrication activities, oil analysis results, and equipment performance.
Generate detailed reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.
Provide technical recommendations to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
Training and Compliance
Provide training to maintenance personnel on lubrication best practices and safety protocols.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and environmental regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Background:
N6 or National Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering field. Certification:
Certified Machinery Lubrication Analyst (MLA) Level 3 (essential). Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in lubrication, tribology, or condition monitoring in an industrial setting.
Hands-on experience with oil analysis, lubrication systems, and predictive maintenance tools.
