Mechanical Quantity Surveyor - Mechanical Contractor - Clondalkin, Dublin Office/Project Location: Clondalkin Dublin Employment Type: Permanent Work Location: Office Based Experience: 4+ years Visa: EU passport or Stamp 4 visa required Our client is a leading Mechanical Engineering Contractor working on large scale industrial buildings projects across Ireland. Responsibilities:
  1. Ensuring compliance with statutory legislation and internal policies and procedures.
  2. Liaising and reporting to the Project Director and the Contracts Manager.
  3. Liaising with the Design Team to ensure requirements and specifications are met.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with Client Representatives to support activities and maintain positive relations.
  5. Attend regular site meetings as a representative of the company and communicate effectively to keep all up-to-date on project development status.
  6. Reviewing tender enquiries and tender analysis for projects.
  7. Estimating and tendering for projects in conjunction with the Head Office Team.
  8. Negotiating new projects and fixed price premiums which are cost effective.
  9. Organising and chairing pre-award meetings with new sub-contractors in conjunction with the construction team.
  10. Subcontract purchasing and monitoring of packages on site.
  11. Monitoring of contra charges and notification to sub-contractors.
  12. Sub-contractor re-measurement, interim and final account payments.
  13. Processing fortnightly/monthly sub-contractor payment certificates.
  14. Compiling the variation log and signing off on variations with Project Quantity Surveyors.
  15. Issuing interim payment applications to the Project Quantity Surveyor and correlating payments received.
  16. Final account preparations at the end of the project.
  17. Cost monitoring and reporting using construction computer software and attending monthly cost reporting meetings.
  18. Cash flow forecasting for projects and issuing monthly reports to accounts.
Requirements:
  1. Degree in Quantity Surveying.
  2. 4+ years of professional experience with proven track record in dealing with Subcontractors and Clients in relation to Valuations, Variations, Final Accounts, and cost reporting.
  3. Displays thorough understanding of specifications, bills of quantities, and drawings.
  4. Displays high capability of extracting quantities from drawings and issuing enquiries to sub-contractors and suppliers.
  5. Computer literate in Microsoft Office and other Quantity Surveying Packages.
  6. Proven track record in Commercial / Industrial Projects.
  7. Demonstrates excellent budgetary responsibility.
  8. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to provide and explain accurate reporting.
  9. Excellent organisation and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
  10. Self-starter with the ability to organise the workday around assigned activities with minimum supervision.
  11. Must be highly flexible with a high level commitment to success.
  12. Ability to work successfully as part of a team with a wide variety of individuals demonstrating effective interpersonal skills.
