Design and Engineering Manager Michael Page Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Posted In 14/8/2013 Job Description: Reporting into the Technical Director who is also based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, your main objective will be to ensure that all the products are designed & manufactured in compliance with the customer's requirements and/or national/international standards. You will also be responsible for establishing and defining the most effective process and operations for the manufacturing of these lighting products. In addition to the above, you will also be responsible for the following:

Oversee the planning of design process, manage and coordinate the work among design work groups.
Launch continuous standardisation projects to standardise basic manufactured components across the business.
Promote integration of design and engineering activities among the business.
Perform continuous design reviews and improvement of existing products.
Perform design verification and validation for the new products, to ensure conformity to specifications and suitability for usage.
Evaluate new products in accordance with design specification in coordination with Production, Tool Shop, Purchase, and Quality Departments.
Monitor design records, particularly drawings and technical references, ensuring that latest issues are available at points of use.
Ensure to finish the design tasks within the stipulated time frames.
Provide strong technical support to the sales department whenever required, e.g. attending technical meetings with customers and/or consultants, visiting customer site to cater for special customer design requirements, preparing technical documents, etc.
Plan and establish the economical process of production, defining the machines and operational sequence to produce the required product.
Establish and define the manner and method of production, specifying instructions on how to produce the product, and ensure that the same is implemented in the shop floor.

Technical Degree in engineering.
Minimum of 10 years Design and Engineering experience in Manufacturing industry, preferably in the Lighting Industry.
Experience in using AutoCAD Inventor.
Strong working knowledge of working with sheet metal and tooling technology.
