Roles and Responsibilities

  • Interfacing with business customers, gathering requirements and delivering complete BI solutions to drive insights and decision making across stakeholder teams.
  • Interfacing with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL (Redshift, Oracle) and ability to use a programming and/or scripting language to process data for modeling.
  • Evolve organization wide Self-Service platforms.
  • Building metrics to analyze key inputs to forecasting systems.
  • Leading complex analytical deep dives (Segmentation, A/B testing).
  • Recognizing and adopting best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of business analyst, data analyst or similar role experience.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Financial Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Prepare financial reports and present findings to senior management, offering insights and recommendations.
    • Monitor financial performance and assess the impact of different variables on business results.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting Support:
    • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational plans.
    • Conduct financial forecasting, including revenue and expense projections, to support decision-making.
    • Analyze actual performance against budgeted targets, identifying areas for corrective action.
  • Financial Modeling and Valuations:
    • Build and maintain financial models to assess business performance and support investment decisions.
    • Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity analysis to evaluate the financial impact of various decisions.
    • Provide recommendations based on the financial modeling results to optimize profitability and growth.
  • Cost Management and Efficiency Improvement:
    • Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for cost reduction or process improvements.
    • Work with department heads to assess financial performance and implement strategies to improve efficiency.
    • Monitor and report on key cost drivers, helping to align operational costs with business goals.
  • Financial Process Improvement:
    • Identify areas where financial processes can be optimized or automated.
    • Collaborate with the finance team to implement process improvements, streamline workflows, and enhance reporting accuracy.
    • Assist in the evaluation of new financial systems, software, or tools to support operational efficiency.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Financial Analysis:
    • Proficient in analyzing financial data, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Ability to identify trends, variances, and financial issues that impact the organization’s performance.
    • Strong understanding of financial metrics, ratios, and KPIs to evaluate business performance.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Experience with budgeting processes, cost management, and forecasting future financial performance.
    • Ability to build financial models to support budget and forecast planning.
    • Expertise in evaluating and recommending adjustments to budgetary assumptions based on real-time data and trends.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Expertise in using data analysis tools (e.g., Excel , SQL , Power BI , Tableau ) to interpret large datasets and generate reports.
    • Ability to present complex financial data and insights clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
    • Experience in creating financial dashboards and visualizations to track performance metrics.
  • Financial Modeling:
    • Strong proficiency in building financial models for scenario analysis, valuations, investment decisions, and forecasting.
    • Experience in sensitivity analysis and assessing the impact of different variables on financial outcomes.
    • Ability to perform ROI analysis and help guide strategic decision-making based on model results.
  • Accounting and Financial Systems Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with accounting principles and frameworks, including GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
    • Experience using financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP , Oracle , QuickBooks , Microsoft Dynamics ).
    • Knowledge of internal controls, financial audits, and compliance requirements.
  • Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking:
    • Strong problem-solving skills to identify financial challenges and develop effective solutions.
    • Analytical thinking to assess large volumes of financial data and make actionable recommendations.
    • Ability to identify inefficiencies, risks, or cost-saving opportunities within financial processes.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills to present complex financial data and analysis to stakeholders.
    • Ability to explain financial concepts and analysis to non-financial team members.
    • Proficiency in creating clear reports and presentations that highlight key findings and recommendations.
