OverviewGovCIO is currently hiring for a Civil Engineer SME. This position will be located in Doha, Qatar.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate(s) will provide civil/structural engineering and construction project monitoring services to augment in-house capabilities for these service areas for the AFCENT TSG. The Civil/Structural Engineering shall support cradle-to-grave functions for base engineering requirements, requirements assessment, planning, project development, construction monitoring, and project closeout. The following bullets further characterize some of the day-to-day support requirements:Review and analyze preliminary, interim, and final project plans and specifications for technical efficiency and adequacy.Provide general monitoring on Host Nation funded project development work for new construction, renovation, and improvement projects for real property facilities, including utility systems, according to all laws, codes, guidelines, and criteria as required.Interpret methods and approaches in developing project calculations, layouts, drawings, and specifications that support project objectives and standards.Monitor all project phases with appropriate managers and staff elements and maintain current engineering data for assigned projects.Coordinate projects with AFCENT TSG for engineers in other disciplines and U.S. Government entities to verify safety, constructability, operability, maintainability, and all project considerations.Perform reviews of Host Nation funded engineering investigative services as requested by the AFCENT TSG.Monitor and report on projects for new construction, renovations, and improvements to real property facilities and infrastructure utilizing a professional knowledge of engineering.Review as-built drawings at the end of construction.Monitor and report on assigned projects and review specifications and schedules.Verify construction for design compliance and assist with resolution of differences between the U.S. and Host Nation building code.Efficiently use computer software including Microsoft Office, CADD programs (AutoCAD), and project tracking programs to solve engineering problems.Comply with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and perform work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.Assist in base master planning and community planning initiatives.Maintain correspondence and map files on all information pertaining to site approvals and planning.Monitor and report on Host Nation executed surveying services and ensure integration of data into the Geographic Information System (GIS).Assist as a Special Projects Liaison with US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) or other design and operating agencies as required.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with 4 years' experience (or commensurate experience).Clearance required: Secret.Proficient in AutoCAD 2012 or later.Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.Physically able to deploy to the CENTCOM AOR and capable of traveling between ADAB TSG and AUAB TSG sites, as required.Company OverviewGovCIO is a team of transformers--people who are passionate about transforming government IT.
